TTLAB – Innovative, Research-Based Solutions to Practical Problems

TTLAB was established to: (a) address local and regional industrial and societal challenges by applying cutting-edge research and technologies, and by deploying practical solutions through internships and grant-funded initiatives; (b) provide a supportive environment for young scientists and engineers to initiate or continue research—particularly recent National Scholarship recipients—with opportunities to publish their work and prepare for advanced studies; and (c) promote interdisciplinary collaboration in STEM fields. Fellowships and travel grants for TTLAB members are generously supported by the Trinidad and Tobago Network Information Centre (TTNIC).

Surveys, Prototypes and Platforms

KAI is an AI tool designed to support climate learning, research, advocacy, and action across the Caribbean. It was developed by The Cropper Foundation in partnership with TTLAB through the project, “Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Civic Engagement and Climate Action in Trinidad and Tobago,” funded by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).

AI4SIDS (AI-Driven Climate Resilience Platform for SIDS) is an award-winning AI platform designed to improve early warning systems and disaster preparedness in SIDS. It is being developed by a TTLAB research team.
