B.Sc. in Computer Science and Management (UWI)
I am Josh Gopaul, a Master’s student in Computer Science at Florida International University, where I specialize in software development while expanding into AI and data science. I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science with Management from the University of the West Indies. My academic and professional interests are centered on applying artificial intelligence to healthcare, with a passion for building machine learning models that improve accessibility and outcomes in Trinidad & Tobago and globally. I have also worked on projects in financial modeling, genomics, and high-performance computing, combining research with practical applications that address real-world challenges. In addition to AI research, I have a strong background in full-stack development and systems design. My portfolio includes a disaster-relief platform integrating real-time hurricane tracking, differential diagnosis (sepsis prediction), a real-time cryptocurrency streaming dashboard, and innovative social and job-matching applications. These projects reflect my ability to bridge theory and practice by creating scalable, impactful technologies. Beyond research and development, I am driven by the goal of leveraging technology to solve meaningful challenges and contribute to innovation that benefits both my local community and the wider global landscape. I am especially passionate about projects that combine AI, data-driven insights, and human-centered design to create tools that can make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring emerging technologies, contributing to open-source projects, and engaging in community-focused innovation. Personal Portfolio: iamgopaul.me
