Amanda Mahadeo is a Statistician with a drive and passion for the Data Analytics field. Amanda spearheads the extraction, cleaning and inputting of data into a central database and maintaining and updating all reports and dashboards for internal users. Prior to her current role, she gained extensive experience in the telecommunications industry as an Analyst and enjoys working with CRMs and back end configurations. Amanda enjoys working in teams, networking and training colleagues both regionally and internationally. Amanda holds a BSc in Statistics and Economics and awaiting graduation from MSc Economics at the University of West Indies, St. Augustine. Amanda enjoys the outdoors, adventures and cooking.

Kelan is currently a student in the MSc Data Science programme and is a data scientist at the Guardian group. He is a recipient of a national scholarship and has a BSc in electrical and computer engineering. He has years of experience as a software development engineer, working with web technologies, GPUs and image processing techniques. With the belief that data science is an invaluable tool in analysis, he hopes to gain expertise in the field, before becoming immersed in an area of research. He also believes in balance and practices MMA, enjoys weightlifting and hiking, values social connections, and loves a good fete, or two.

He went on to work in Operations in a Food Processing Plant and began working with data. From here, he secured an opportunity in Supply Chain Analytics in the Construction Industry. He is now pursuing his MSc in Data Science at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine where he hopes to gain the critical skills necessary to provide practical applications using Data Science. In his free time, he enjoys playing the guitar and a good game or two.

His main role is to calculate the annual and quarterly Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the Services Sector of Trinidad. Mustafa is currently interested in venturing into the fields of data analytics and data science. His hobbies are cricket, diving, and video games.

Aliyah Hamid obtained her B.Sc. Mathematics (double major) with a minor in Economics at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. She is currently pursuing her M.Sc. Mathematics, having completed 9 graduate-level courses and is presently working on her thesis in an area of pure mathematics. Aliyah holds the position of Statistician I at the Central Statistical Office (CSO) of Trinidad and Tobago. Her main role is to calculate the annual and quarterly Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for economic sectors such as Education, Human Health, Arts/Culture/Entertainment and Domestic Services. While her primary interest lies in the field of pure mathematics, she is eager to expand her knowledge and skills in data science. Recognizing the increasing importance of data-driven decision-making, she aims to explore this exciting and rapidly evolving field. Beyond her professional pursuits, Aliyah is a cinephile who enjoys immersing herself in the world of film. She also finds joy in baking, chess, and solving puzzles.

Rainah graduated from St. John’s University in New York in January 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics. During her time at St. John’s she assisted with research from 2020-2021 conducted by Dr. Mikhail Ostrovskii from the St John’s University Mathematics Department on the quantitative characteristics of cycles and their relations with stretch and spanning tree congestion. She was a part of the research team for the 2022 Fields Institute internship program with a focus in Domain Adaptors and Cross-Lingual Generalization. She currently works as an Associate Professional at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the University of the West Indies. She has a keen interest in data analyses surrounding video game user interface as well as medicine.

He is currently a consultant radio engineer for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on a regional project focused on maritime telecommunications; and serves as one of ITU’s Generation Connect Youth Envoy for the Americas.
Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Tariq has an avid interest in using his skills to provide service to the people, tackling national, regional and international issues such as digital exclusion and ICT inaccessibility through multi-dimensional approaches spanning technical and social domains.
